The year was 1967, the place Southern California. The sexual revolution was in full swing and hippies were celebrating the Summer of Love. Nudity was so groovy, man, and clothes so irrelevant. In California, Love Central, the staid old nudist camps were giving way to enlightened new clubs hip to peace and freedom, especially the freedom to feel the sun on your natural naked body, any time, any place. For these young idealists it was not just the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, but the Age of Jaybird, a group of farout magazines celebrating exuberant hippy nudism. Titles like Jaybird Happening and Campus Jaybird captured a time of playful, uncomplicated sexual innocence now sadly forgotten, a time when flaunting your untrimmed hippy hair - every bit of it - was a revolutionary act. Während des Sommers der Liebe war Dian Hanson noch ein Teenie, doch nur allzugern bereit, sich der sexuellen Revolution anzuschlieben. Erste journalistische Meriten sammelte sie bei »Puritan«, einer alternativen Vierteljahresschrift für Sex und Literatur später wurde sie Herausgeberin/Chefredakteurin von »Partner«, »Adult Cinema Review«, »Hooker«, »Outlaw Biker», »Hawgs«, »Juggs« und »Leg Show».
